SquareBySquare raises new funding for local conservation groups so they can buy and protect more rainforest.
SquareBySquare funds local conservation groups to buy and protect more rainforest. People protect GPS-mapped square metres, name them, get a certificate and see them on a live map, while local partners manage the land on the ground.
SquareBySquare raises new funding for local conservation groups so they can buy and protect more rainforest. Every purchase protects a Square: at least one GPS-mapped square metre of real rainforest. Protectors name their Square, receive a certificate and can find it on the live map, while local conservation partners hold and manage the land on the ground.

Local conservation partners hold and manage the land, because they know the forest and its wildlife best. SquareBySquare provides the platform, mapping and certificates, and connects the project with people who might never have found it otherwise. The first project is at Djarawong, near Mission Beach in Queensland's Wet Tropics, with C4 (Community for Coastal and Cassowary Conservation).
SquareBySquare raises new funding for local conservation groups so they can buy and protect more rainforest. It started with a simple problem. Destroying nature is often more profitable than protecting it.
Local conservation organisations know the land, the wildlife and what it takes to look after both. SquareBySquare brings them funding from people who might never have found their work otherwise. Every purchase protects a Square, which is at least one GPS-mapped square metre of real rainforest inside a protected project area.
Protectors name their Square, receive a personalised certificate and can find it on a public live map alongside everyone else's. People protect Squares for themselves, as gifts, or through their business to mark milestones with clients and teams.
The conservation partner holds and manages the land, so stewardship stays with the people responsible for the landscape. SquareBySquare runs the platform, mapping, certificates and community. Funding from Squares goes towards buying land, caring for it, running the platform and reaching more protectors.
The first project is at Djarawong, near Mission Beach in Queensland's Wet Tropics, with C4 (Community for Coastal and Cassowary Conservation), a local group protecting cassowary habitat. Under the current agreement, the land is protected for at least 10 years.
A Square is a record of protection. The land stays with the conservation partner, and your Square helps keep it standing.
